Text Box: The Day the Lions Roared
Text Box: God simply blew our socks off last year at CWOC. From January through December,
He never ceased to amaze us. It was as though He graced us with a “Midas Touch” and
everything we attempted was successful. There is definitely a great corporate anointing on this body of believers. We
experienced the concluding words of Psalms 1:3 as they state, “…And whatever he
does shall prosper” (NKJV).
Here we are in 2010. Already, the Holy Spirit has shifted us to a higher gear. Last summer, God gave me a vision to host a “conference” where we were to bring in a different speaker nightly. These were not to be famous people off TBN or popular
pastors who lead mega-churches. These were to be men who are, at this point,
unknown to a large majority
of people. But, they were to
be men that I see significance, potential, and greatness in.
This was birthed out of a burden placed in my heart as I sat in a denominational meeting with a large group of leaders. As I glanced around the room, I had a startling revelation: I was one of the youngest men in the room. Mind you, this is my 20th year of fulltime ministry.
Twenty years ago when I was Text Box: one of the youngest guys in a setting like that it didn’t bother me. However, now at the age of 44, I was bothered as I pondered in my heart: “Where are the young ministers?”
I began to seek the Lord on this matter. He gave me direction to host a “conference” and in it I was to “expose” some young ministers. We often think of “exposing” in a negative sense, but in this case it was for a positive. I was to give them a platform that would allow people to experience the gifts in these ministers of the
Gospel. Their “chronological” age made no difference. I was to bring to the forefront those “Davids” who had been faithful in Kingdom work on the backside of nowhere and unrecognized by the populace.
I was given the mandate to publicly recognize their significance and give them opportunity to demonstrate the gifts of God inside of them in a totally new arena.
On Wednesday, January 20th through Sunday, January 24th, we hosted our FIRST ANNUAL YOUNG LIONS CONFERENCE. Pastors Mike Porter, Billy Craps, DJ Byrd, Patrick Pinckney, and Chuck Barrineau came to the Text Box: Columbia Metro area and the Holy Spirit roared through these YOUNG LIONS nightly. On Saturday morning Dr. Jesse Simmons and I had a special training session on LEADERSHIP.
The week was a tremendous success. I believe God unlocked a new dimension in these men of God. But, this I know without doubt: GOD UNLOCKED A NEW DIMENSION TO CROSSROADS AS THEY MINISTERED! We sowed into them and we reaped an immediate harvest that I believe will continue to be poured out upon us for a long time to come.
I want to close with a
special “THANK YOU” to all the CWOC people who worked nightly for this event. It takes TEAMWORK to make the DREAM WORK! 2010 is looking very good indeed!
