The Heart Of A Champion
By Pastor Tim Hodge
One HERO! Many Champions. That’s been my theme for the past several weeks while ministering the Word of the Lord at CWOC. This hasn’t been my personal focus ‘just’ during preaching on Sunday mornings. I’ve been using these thoughts to gauge my thought processes for future planning, but also in reflective evaluations of how I have navigated strenuous seasons over my past.
Every Christian has the heart of a champion beating inside of them. It has very little to do with us, our nature, our personalities, or even our strengths. The heart of the champion within us comes from the essence of our HERO, Jesus Christ, who came to planet earth with one intention: to battle for the souls of humanity.
Jesus was a one-man invasion force. He stared down sin, death, the devil and his minions, the cross, the grave and didn’t bat an eye. Everything dark and depressive this world could muster was hurled at Jesus, but HE ALWAYS OVERCAME. He is our HERO and we are His champions.
Do you want to be a champion? Then take on the heart of your HERO!
