Twas The Sunday Before Christmas

Twas the Sunday before Christmas, when all through God’s house,
God’s people were assembling, some dressed casually, some dressed in suits, and some ladies were wearing their newest and best blouse.
The children were ready to sing on the stage.
All of them adorably precious at their young, innocent age.
Old St. Nick would not be our focus today.
We’d come for Jesus, who had come to show us the way, the baby placed in a manger, laying in hay.
Today is all about the Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes,
Who thirty-three years later would die on a cross, but alas after three days in the grave — He arose.
He is Jesus, the Christ. He is the King of all kings.
He is the reason for this season and all the hope and joy it brings.
The trees are all lit with their beautiful lights,
For Jesus came to end sin’s grievous, long, dark nights.
Jesus came as the Father’s gift so that we might live.
Remember that with each present you give.
