Happy Thanksgiving Week

This coming Thursday is the day designated on our calendars as THANKSGIVING DAY. In the U.S., this is a cherished national holiday. I read a report that of all the holidays, including Christmas, this is the week of more national and international travel plans. Families will hit the roads and skies to be with other family members for the annual Thanksgiving meal.
Sometimes life throws curve balls. Sometimes it lays duds. However, more often than not, it brings joys and opportunities to build wonderful memories with those we love. In the presence of it all – the good and bad, the easy and hard, the cherished and the detestable – we find the presence of God’s merciful grace. The benevolent hand of our loving heavenly Father is always stretched toward us.
In light of His love, grace, mercy, and kindness toward us we find the ability to be THANKFUL in all things (fulfilling Ephesians 5:20). This week is a time where the calendar focuses our attention to being grateful. I follow suit with that. Regardless of whatever our families face this holiday season, please allow me to leave you with this: God has a plan and He is in control – I’m THANKFUL for that.
