FAITH

Over the past week I’ve have sat in various venues as a minister of the gospel. My title may have ranged from “pastor”, “guest speaker”, or “council member”, but my capacity in all of these was as a minister of the gospel; therefore, a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ! He is my inspiration and motivation in all I do. God forbid that I do anything out of perfunctory duty and do so half-heartedly.
I mention the various venues I’ve sat in because in each one I carried away a great concern. We seem to be missing a great and oft forgotten ingredient to this walk with Christ. That ingredient is FAITH. My beloved friends, for God to demonstrate Himself mightily in and through us we must be a people of faith. He is going to call us to step out and do some things that simply will not compute. We can’t plan everything according to spreadsheets and the bottom lines of what we can “afford” to do. There are some things the Spirit of God will lead us into that we can’t “afford” to do; yet, we can’t afford “NOT” to do them for they will unlock portals of glory in our lives that are beyond our imagination.
I challenge and encourage you today: “Be ready. Be willing. Be poised to do things with God that will REQUIRE faith.”
